Background
After trying in vain for nearly 2 years to get a business networking portal in place using hand-coded, customized business networking application first in asp.net and in php later, the client turned to Pigtail Pundits.

Challenge
Our task was to build a business networking portal as a resource for vendors, partners, models, locations and media & entertainment professionals. Or, as a business networking portal to meet, discuss, showcase portfolios and connect with folks from the industry, world wide.

Solution
Pigtail Pundits developed the entire site using Drupal Content Management System (CMS).

The site has two special features, which are in demand in this industry. A special Models and Locations section, which features photo albums of Members. What this means is that Location Companies and Modelling Agencies can now publicize themselves and be part of a global directory, for Free. Of course, even Independent Models and Location Owners can also promote themselves, for free.

Designers, Freelancers, Movie Producers, Cameramen, Technicians, Advertising Professionals, etc can join the business network.

BiigPiic's centrepiece is the Member Profile. Around the Member Profile revolves Member Content. Content can be in mutiple formats: Videos, Audio, Textual and Image. Content can be directly uploaded to the web site, or embedded from popular social sites. Flickr, YouTube, GoogleVideo, etc, are supported for content embeds.

There is also a Classifieds section containing Jobs and Buy & Sell aimed at Members who wish to sell, or buy equipment. Members on BiigPiic have the ability to connect at multiple levels – through posts on the member guestbooks, through private messages and the soon to be added groups/ networks.

3 types of Membership exist on BiigPiic. Free/Silver, Featured Silver, and Gold. Paid Membership gets higher content upload limits and certain extra features, but for most part Membership is free.
