Mumbai, July 14, 2007 DealPals.com, a brilliant price sharing community started by 5 Chartered Accountants from Mumbai and Pune, was unveiled earlier this month. The site revolves around a Discussion Forum for members to share prices of essential purchases they make across Indian cities. The DealPals story is very interesting. A group of friends get together and decide to share what they have been doing offline all along. Put up product prices, discuss the best deals, ask around for bargains. According to Rajesh Khanna, Director, Pigtail Pundits, DealPals represents a new wave of young Indians, suitably well employed in the ITES sector, who see an opportunity on the web and decide to try it out. Open Source software on which the whole community is built enables any young person with an idea and some very little monies to put up an online property. Just for the lark of it. This is a new and welcome trend in India. And has been entirely propelled by a booming Business Process Outsourcing industry. |
